What it is?
Elegant vintage black satin evening bag by Prestige with gold tone trim and marcasite clasp. Perfect with your little black dress. The top trim has a very beautiful sunray type etching radiating out from the sparkly sunlike clasp. The Prestige logo appears inside above a deep zippered pocket with two flaps. The black lining feels like silk or softer satin. While the purse is clutch-like to hold, there is a 2 inch gusset to make it roomier.
How big is it?
8 “ wide by 6” tall, extending 11.5” when holding with strap. There is a half-inch wide sturdy cloth strap.
How is it?
The bag is stunning. The satin smooth with no fading rips or tears. The shiny with no scratches or chips, and the clasp snaps and holds. There is a slight fray on the back of the strap but the fabric overall is in good condition.
Where did it come from?
Along with another bag, this was a gift to me from the son of a hospice patient I visited for many months. I imagin Helena carried this or her Marshall Field beaded bag when she kicked up her heels for a night of dancing in Chicago nightclubs in her prime.
